Bien qu\u2019il soit possible que l\u2019industrie automobile, en particulier la construction de v\u00e9hicules l\u00e9gers, opte rapidement pour une transition vers l\u2019\u00e9lectrification, les v\u00e9hicules de transport de fret terrestre, a\u00e9rien et maritime, plus lourds, effectueront cette transition beaucoup plus lentement. M\u00eame si le Canada a acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des ressources naturelles comme le charbon, le p\u00e9trole et le gaz naturel qui peuvent continuer \u00e0 faire fonctionner les moteurs \u00e0 combustion interne (MCI) et autres \u00e9quipements traditionnels, le pays a l\u2019occasion de prendre une avance dans la mise au point et la production de biocarburants, de carburants synth\u00e9tiques et d\u2019\u00e9lectro-carburants, comme l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne ou le biodiesel. Le Canada a reconnu le potentiel unique de ces carburants et engag\u00e9 1,5&nbsp;milliard de dollars dans le Fonds pour les combustibles propres afin d\u2019accro\u00eetre l\u2019aide \u00e0 la fabrication et \u00e0 l\u2019achat de ces carburants \u00e0 faible teneur en carbone.
